Super Bowl 2013 smashed social television records, but for an event centered on football,
Beyonce and the third quarter
power blackout sure stole the show.
A record 30.6 million social media comments were made last night on Twitter, Facebook and GetGlue checkins, according to Bluefin Labs.
The halftime show, dubbed by fans the “Beyonce Bowl,” generated 5.5 million tweets and was the second most mentioned moment at the end of the night on Facebook, just after the Baltimore Ravens’ victory.

NEW ORLEANS — One of the most anticipated musical moments of the year so far happened in New Orleans and was connected to the Super Bowl – but it had nothing to do with Beyonce.
Instead, it was another superstar, Justin Timberlake, who had the town buzzing as he gave his first performance in nearly five years – a sizzling, hour-long concert that featured the nattily dressed entertainer with a more than 10-piece band and guest appearances by Timbaland and Jay-Z, who's prominently featured on Timberlake's comeback single, "Suit and Tie."

The New Kids on the Block are back!
The band plans to bring some heat this summer when they hit the road for a brand new headlining tour – and they're bringing along a few famous friends: 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men will open all shows on the jaunt, which kicks off May 31 in Uncasville, Conn.
"It just seems like we are getting better and better," said
Joey McIntyre, 40. "We're excited to get out there, rock out and have fun."
Along with the announcement of their tour, the multi-platinum selling group will release
10 – their first new album in over four years – on April 2.
